The Kiwi Team
Meet the Team:
From a military background, Colin has spent virtually his entire life in the field. In the business for more than 20 years, he has guided and hunted extensively around the world, including Africa, Europe and all over North and South America as well as the South Pacific. Colin is 110% committed to client satisfaction and will oversee all aspects of your hunting experience with us. His favourite New Zealand animal to hunt is the tahr, while his global choice is a toss up between Spanish ibex and Sonoran desert mule deer.
"Mitch" has been hunting and fishing his whole life with close to 20 years of professional guiding. There are not too many situations which Mitch has not experienced, a stickler for detail, wealth of knowledge, great sense of humor, enthusiastic and passionate drive to get his hunters great trophies but at the same time laid back, patient and fun to be around make Mitch very unique and a valuable senior member of the team.
John has the outdoors in his blood. He is an accomplished mountaineer, a competitive kayaker and a keen hunter. The mountains are his passion. John is always up for a challenge, he is in great shape and not scared of hard work. When you're around John you just know that you are in good hands and feel comfortable and confident to give him the reins. But when the day is over and you are back at the lodge John is casual, relaxed and laughs easily. A true professional and a perfect gentlemen.
Jamie is born and bred in South Otago. Brought up around hunting and has been mad keen on being out in the mountains his whole life, with Tahr being his favourite species to hunt, where he feels most at home. Jamie's guiding experiance includes 2 seasons guiding on horseback in the Northern Rockies. Jamie's quiet enthusiasim ensures that you will have an excellent and sucessful hunting experiance.
James is the newest members of the team having joined Kiwi in March 2017 . He is Canterbury born and bred and spends every spare moment pursuing his passion for hunting in the Southern Alps. He particularly enjoys hunting big Red stags, rutting Bull Tahr and the ever elusive Chamois Buck!
Lodge staff - Stew Point Lodge
The cheerful, hard working woman that you will find in the lodge each day is Denise. Meal times are a real treat, the only complaint ever heard is that our guests have put on weight during their stay. With years of catering experience from small groups to large dinner functions Denise has the knowledge and ability to deal with all groups and their dietary requirements. Although all the background work of supplies, cooking and cleaning is often not noticed Denise is certainly a key pin in the team effort during your hunt.
Lodge staff - Sherwood Lodge
For the last seven seasons, Christine has looked after our guests and Sherwood Lodge near our Dry Creek hunting area. Christines experience is invaluable to us and having worked for many years in the outdoors herself she knows exactly what is required with delicious home cooked meals and a warm comfortable room at the end of the day. Christine really enjoyes meeting the lodge guests and her characteristic easy going Kiwi style will make your stay at Sherwood one you will always remember.
